Why study abroad and expand your knowledge now? / 왜 지금 유학을 가서 지식을 넓혀야 하는 이유

A university abroad is most likely to help everyone a lot in the future in negotiations, communication skills, industry competition, socializing, adapting to new environments, etc. This is because of the education that the Universities offer us as foreign students, is really applicable and useful knowledge. Everyone has their own goals in their careers, and many people fail to achieve them because they are too afraid about moving to another country and about going to the other side of the world. So let me tell you briefly why you should STOP worrying and accomplish your goal of studying abroad.

I would love to change that perspective. Personally, I'm really interested in learning new things, exploring cultures and business/marketing plans. I have seen many students in this era who are not interested in studying anything, because they do not know which direction to take (which is valid) or simply because they are too lazy to attend school and prefer a common job. This is really devastating because many young students waste time on unimportant things and forget about the future, economic factors, cost of living and other facts. It is well known that many people from my home country are not professionals, but there are also many people prepared for school. Personally, I think if you want to do something you can do it without excuses. The phrase that I've been saying for years is:

"Language is not a barrier when you talk from soul to soul."

When it was my first day in elementary school, there was a classmate from the southern part of the U.S., so I started practicing my advanced conversation in English and it really worked. This was one of the first challenges I have faced and I enjoyed learning a lot! The same thing happened when I started learning French and Japanese. I started watching many movies, series, and listening to songs, this helped me a lot to understand 30-40% of these languages, but I stopped because my priority is Korean. This language is very important to me. 

Why study abroad?

When you have opportunities of this magnitude, you have to take advantage of them to grow professionally and personally. There are many famous personalities or activists who follow their dreams as they live the experience, leaving behind their homes for a while, so that they can meet the challenges of other parts of the world, with one goal, achieve what they love, their reason for being. As long as you really understand who you are or are in that process, you can learn thousands of new things. Respecting everyone's cultures and tastes is what makes you mature in every way. This is because you now have a different perspective on things, that's what my parents taught me since I was little, "we're all the same, the only thing that makes us different are the circumstances." It's time to change the way you think, be prepared for new knowledge, multicultural experiences, the era of revolutionary technology, complex but effective strategies/business plans and marketing.

Change is now in our hands, if the world was united as one, everything would be better, the economy could reach its peak, advanced technology could be everywhere, successful businesses and a better industrial community, this respecting each country's culture, including the way of thinking and manners, thus creating alliances beneficial.

Think about it, and do it.

There's no time to be scared or worried, but to take action we have plenty... and that moment is now. Don't waste it due to overthinking or insecurities. That won't take you anywhere, rather take away amazing opportunities from you.

해외에 있는 대학은 앞으로 협상, 의사소통 능력, 산업 경쟁, 사회화, 새로운 환경 적응 등에서 모두에게 많은 도움을 줄 가능성이 높습니다. 이것은 대학들이 외국인 학생으로서 우리에게 제공하는 교육 때문에, 정말 적용 가능하고 유용한 지식입니다. 모든 사람들은 그들의 직업에 그들만의 목표를 가지고 있고, 많은 사람들은 그들이 다른 나라로 이주하는 것과 세계의 다른 쪽으로 가는 것에 대해 너무 두려워하기 때문에 그것들을 성취하지 못합니다. 그래서 여러분이 걱정하는 것을 멈추고 유학이라는 목표를 달성해야 하는 이유를 간단히 말씀드리겠습니다.

저는 그 관점을 바꾸고 싶습니다. 개인적으로, 저는 새로운 것을 배우고, 문화를 탐구하고, 사업/마케팅 계획에 관심이 많습니다. 저는 이 시대의 많은 학생들이 어떤 방향으로 가야 할지 모르기 때문에(어느 것이 유효한지), 단순히 학교에 다니기 귀찮고 평범한 직업을 선호하기 때문에 공부에 관심이 없는 것을 많이 보아왔습니다. 많은 어린 학생들이 중요하지 않은 일에 시간을 낭비하고 미래, 경제적 요인, 생활비 그리고 다른 사실들에 대해 잊어버리기 때문에 이것은 정말 파괴적입니다. 모국에서 온 많은 사람들이 전문가가 아니라는 것은 잘 알려져 있지만, 학교에 갈 준비가 되어 있는 사람들도 많습니다. 개인적으로, 저는 여러분이 무언가를 하고 싶다면 변명 없이 그것을 할 수 있다고 생각합니다. 제가 몇 년 동안 해온 말은 다음과 같습니다.

"영혼에서 영혼으로 말할 때 언어는 장벽이 아닙니다."

초등학교 첫날, 미국 남부 지역에서 온 반 친구가 있어서 고급 회화를 영어로 연습하기 시작했는데 정말 효과가 있었어요. 이것은 제가 직면한 첫 번째 도전 중 하나였고 저는 많은 것을 배우는 것을 즐겼습니다! 제가 프랑스어와 일본어를 배우기 시작했을 때도 같은 일이 일어났습니다. 저는 영화, 시리즈, 노래를 많이 보기 시작했고, 이것이 제가 이 언어들의 30~40%를 이해하는 데 많은 도움이 되었지만, 저의 우선순위가 한국어이기 때문에 그만 두었습니다. 이 언어는 저에게 매우 중요합니다. 

왜 해외에서 공부하나요?

이 정도 규모의 기회가 있을 때는 전문적이고 개인적으로 성장할 수 있도록 기회를 활용해야 합니다. 유명한 인물이나 활동가들이 잠시 집을 떠나 그 경험을 하면서 꿈을 따르는 사람들이 많습니다. 그래서 그들은 하나의 목표로 세계 다른 지역의 도전에 맞서 사랑하는 것, 그들이 존재하는 이유를 성취할 수 있습니다. 여러분이 그 과정에서 자신이 누구인지, 누구인지 정말로 이해한다면, 여러분은 수천 가지의 새로운 것들을 배울 수 있습니다. 모든 사람의 문화와 취향을 존중하는 것은 모든 면에서 여러분을 성숙하게 만드는 것입니다. 왜냐하면 여러분은 이제 사물에 대한 다른 시각을 갖게 되었기 때문입니다, 그것은 제가 어렸을 때부터 제 부모님이 제게 가르쳐주셨던 것입니다, "우리는 모두 같고, 우리를 다르게 만드는 유일한 것은 상황들입니다." 만약 우리 나라(멕시코)를 강조하면서 다른 나라의 다른 부모들이 정말로 그들의 아이들에게 다양성을 존중하도록 가르칠 수 있다면, "다른" 사람들에 대한 인종차별이나 배제는 없을 것입니다. 인간은 사전 지식이 없거나 단순히 실제 "지식"과 다른 것들을 두려워합니다. 여러분의 사고 방식을 바꾸고, 새로운 지식, 다문화 경험, 혁신적인 기술의 시대, 복잡하지만 효과적인 전략/사업 계획 및 마케팅에 대비해야 할 때입니다.

변화는 이제 우리 손에 달려 있습니다. 만약 세계가 하나로 통합된다면, 모든 것이 더 나아질 것이고, 경제는 정점에 도달할 수 있고, 선진 기술은 어디에나 있을 수 있고, 성공적인 사업과 더 나은 산업 공동체가 될 수 있습니다. 이것은 사고 방식과 매너를 포함한 각 나라의 문화를 존중하고, 따라서 동맹을 이롭게 만듭니다.
